ERP Data Collection and Updates

Where does the data come from and where does it go?

The data side of LOID is the proprietary system that Polar Geomatic Solutions LP has created to collect and maintain land owner and occupant data.

Having working in the field and collected ERP data first hand, Polar Geomatics creators of LOID knew their had to be a better way than retracing the same steps to the same properties every two years and finding that significant data had changed within months of their original visit.

They created a method for maintaining land owner and occupant data that is far more efficient and keeps the information more current. It happens in two steps.

First, provincial records are monitored for changes in land titles. Changes are updated on a schedule determined suitable by the client; when a change in ownership is found, the new owners are promptly contacted. This gives the new owner full knowledge of their property as it relates to neighbouring client assets and helps initiate a favorable relationship with the company.

Step two is to use telephone calls every 6 months to check on land parcels where ownership changes have not been detected. A quick check-up phone call is less intrusive to the owner or occupant and faster and cheaper for the company. This makes more sense for the landowner and for the companies.

All of the data is streamed continuously into the LOID software and is immediately accessible through the mapping interface. Companies subscribe to the information that relates to their specific assets and can fulfill their ERP requirements cost effectively and with a greater assurance of that the data is up-to-date and accurate. This better meets the needs of both the company and the government.
